Latest Updates from Our Project:

Already Hitting Milestones!

Even though there are still several days left in the Kickstarter, Tome of Worldbuilding is already the second-largest we have done! Suzy and I would like to thank you all so much for your support. These are going to be great books (watch one reaction in the video linked below)!

Although page counts change in the process of moving from manuscript to layout, the current manuscript page count for Tome of Worldbuilding is 374 pages (and it will go up as we add the Table of Content, Index, and more tables). The manuscript page count for the Nomicon is at 342, but that one still has more tables to be added. So we are estimating that the books will be around 350 to 450 pages each once art is added to the manuscripts.

I recorded an interview with Captain Corajus yesterday, and it is already up!

If anyone would like to ask questions or hear more about the books, I will be on Talking Crit this evening at 7pm Central Time (8pm Eastern), fielding questions from Jim Kitchen, Erik Tenkar, and Mike Badolato. You can watch at this link

Funded many times over! Thank you!

Thank you all so much for your support on this project!

We are about to hit an unannounced stretch goal at $90,000. We will add a free PDF of a worksheet for using the two books (for all backers), which will contain several rather mundane items but will be very useful. The first is a blank hex map that corresponds to temperature zones on an earth-sized world. Second is a set of cut-outs that can be used to plan a continent-sized map before starting to generate coastlines and cultural basins. Third is a page for recording a "Cultural Template," a set of baseline facts about a culture that vary within the countries of the culture. Fourth is a worksheet for individual countries, so you can record where those countries vary from the cultural template, record the ruler's name and title, add the other factors distinguishing the country such as recent history, quirks, whether it's at war, and so on.

One question that has come up -- these books are all going to be stitched signature hardcovers, the highest quality binding. The pages will be the same size as in Tome of Adventure Design: USA letter-sized.

Again, thank you so much for backing the Kickstarter! We look forward to delivering books that will give you a lifetime of enjoyable world creation!
